StandOut Puzzles is the entrepreneurial creation of businesswoman Marlinna Stringer of British Columbia, Canada. She actually owes her success to a group of "mature" lady-puzzlers who expressed a desire for a kind of jigsaw puzzle that simply didn't exist. Every jigsaw puzzle is 750 pieces (with two exceptions), an unusual but insightful compromise between the dominant 500 and 1,000-piece standards. Pieces are randomly cut and come in a low-glare linen finish, and backing is made of sturdy blue chipboard. Packaging is highly unusual, comprised of elongated, cylindrical cans with metal end caps and very attractive labeling. Nice!
